Tiki Taane was the dreadlocked lead singer of Wellington band, Salmonella Dub. In 2008, Taane removed the locks, embraced his maoritanga and released a solo album. Whilst the album embraces his cultural background it also embraces his other passion - mix and dub.
For those unfamiliar with New Zealand culture, Tangaroa is the maori God of the Sea. Tangaroa comes off 'Past Present Future', and received mainstream commercial airplay. The video shows maori culture, backing the song's use of haka chant. Spine tingling.
